Artist's Comments

This pic was inspired by the novel The Road by Cormac McCarthy. It is a very, very depressing story about a man and his young son in a post-apocalyptic world. It was an ink drawing, colored in photoshop. Total time ~2.5 hours.

Thanks! If you get a chance, try the book The Road by Cormac McCarthy, it was the inspiration for this pic. It's depressing, but kinda cool if you like post-apocalyptic stuff.

I just finished reading it (in tears I might add). So devastatingly beautiful.

Great work, by the way. :-)

Thanks!

Yeah that was a cool book, very sad though. I just read somewhere that Oprah picked it for her book club. I don't know if it's the kind of book that middle-ages housewives would appreciate, heheh. If you liked The Road, you might like Blindness by Jose Saramago. It's got a very similar vibe too it.

you captured the novels gloom and seriousness perfectly =]

Thanks! It was a very cool book. I'm shocked beyond belief that Oprah picked it for her book club, though.
